Psychological astrology interprets
the chart from a psychological point of view. Personality traits are
certainly an important part of your chart interpretation but your
attitudes and how you handle your challenges are other factors that
we need to look at when having a consultation. The aspects between
the planets and points in your chart tell us what your personal and
family issues are and the client is encouraged to understand his or
her inner dynamics and to seek self development and personal
empowerment. When you understand your emotional patterns and mental
attitudes you can work through the challenges and cycles of your
current experience. Psychological astrology was originally based on
the work of Dane Rudhyar and referred to as "Humanistic astrology".
This branch of astrology now covers all facets of psychology and
many counselors are both psychologists and astrologers while other
astrologers will take a psychological approach to your astrology
reading rather than the more traditional trait analysis or event
orientation. A psychological astrologer can identify your issues,
which is an enormous help to yourself when starting a program with a
therapist and to the therapist who can more readily get to the
healing process. It is quite common for an astrologer to refer a
client in need of psychological counseling to a psychology
professional. If you are working on issues, a psychological

For my part, I have always been fascinated at how the chart can
describe our family lives, our parents and our relationship to them,
relationships between siblings and our subconscious patterns
regarding the way we give love and receive it. Understanding these
subconscious patterns is the first step to forming healthy
relationships and creating successful life patterns. Often this can
be accomplished through the astrology consultation alone but in
deeper issues, the next step is the therapy of your choice. If you
